A SENSEi room is not a room full of objects. It is an environment where projections, lights, sounds, scents and materials tell the same story at the same moment, and where every person can enter, touch, move and choose. In this guide you will find the 14 tools that can make up a SENSEi room, what each one does and some examples of activities to try right away.
The SENSEi experience in brief
At the centre is the interactive projection: it starts on the floor, rises up the wall and becomes a single scene that reacts to the body. Around it, the sensory tools amplify the experience: the bubble tube takes on the colours of the projected sea, the scent diffuser brings the fragrance of the lavender field, the vibroacoustic mattress lets you feel the waves with your whole body.
Everything is controlled from a tablet. The educator, therapist or teacher chooses the scene and adjusts intensity, speed, sounds and lights to suit the person. The SENSEi research group, with more than 40 scientific publications, designs every activity together with the people who use the room every day.
Three experiences to try
Journey to the bottom of the sea
The room becomes an ocean: the interactive wall shows the coral reef, the interactive floor fills with fish darting away underfoot, the fibre optic waterfall turns into a shoal of glowing jellyfish. The children follow a turtle, touch it on the wall and it guides them towards the shipwreck. At the end everyone lies down on the vibroacoustic mattress and feels the waves.
The autumn forest
Leaves fall onto the floor, ready to be kicked, while on the wall the forest changes colour. With the tactile panels children touch bark, moss and stones, and the scent diffuser brings the smell of the undergrowth. They count the leaves, name the colours, listen to the wind. At school, this activity becomes a science and language lesson.
A night under the stars
The lights dim, the starry sky appears on the ceiling, and in the soft corner everyone lies down among the cushions. The stars light up with the rhythm of the breath and a voice tells a story. It is the moment for calm, useful after an intense activity or before going back to class.

- Start from the people: age, sensory needs, educational or therapeutic goals.
- Projection first: the interactive wall and floor are the heart of the experience, the other tools enrich it.
- Alternate activation and calm: alongside the dynamic tools you always need a soft corner.
- Think about the space: light, power sockets, wheelchair access and mounting heights.
- Train the people who will use the room: a tool is only as valuable as the activities we know how to offer with it.

Frequently asked questions
Are all 14 tools needed?
No. Every SENSEi room comes from a tailor-made project: you start from the interactive projection and choose the tools that are most useful for the people who will use it.
Do the tools work together with the projections?
Yes, that is the principle of the SENSEi room: projections, lights, sounds and scents follow the same scene and are adjusted from a tablet.
Who is a SENSEi room suitable for?
For schools, therapy centres, care homes for older people and museums. Discover the areas of application.
